ARU-R2 IN ALERT OVER DE AARDBEVING VAN VANDAAG IN HAITI

Volgens voorlopige informatie van de United States Geological Survey (USGS) vond op de ochtend van vandaag om 12:29 UTC een aardbeving plaats met een kracht van 7,2 op de schaal van Richter, ongeveer 12 km NO van Saint-Louis du Sud en 33 km naar de ENE van Les Cayes, Haïti.

Dit evenement vond plaats op 18.352ºN en 73.4801W op een diepte van 10 km.

Dankzij de rapporten van de heer Jean-Robert Gaillard, HH2JR, voorzitter van de Radio Club van Haïti, is er aanzienlijke structurele schade ontstaan.

Er is nog steeds geen melding van gewonden. We verzoeken de IARU-R2-ledenverenigingen om de volgende noodfrequenties in Haïti te beschermen: 3750 kHz, 7150 kHz en 14330 kHz.
